Hahaha you simply cannot ask him that, because he knows he would have to end up making a birdseye one 2 weeks later 😰😰
I believe you guys are tied at five each once you receive today’s shipment.🤪 I need to make new friends.😜

Your work is superb! Just out of curiosity, Ever do Cribbage boards? I have a feeling that this is a silly question. :)
Nope but I probably could.
Sounds easier than a chess board for Finnegan.😉

My friend made me this. I machined the pegs and had them anodized. I had access to an entire machine shop several years ago. Now I am the boss (dummy). If you ever want to try one, I will try and get you some pegs made.

Very impressive indeed, and thanks for the offer. Very nice pins.

I used a forstner bit to cut an opening for the tube socket then hot glued it in place. I used a long bit inside the solid wood for necessary wiring. I also made sure the tube socket contacts were extremely tight. The large tube does support headphones.

Same bit is used here:

I use them a couple times a week and in your case you can buy the appropriate size.😁

If you are using an octal socket I could rig something for your application since I have everything at hand.
I'll add that to my todo list when I get back. Thanks!!

Life is funny!

Putting these tubes in the Lowes Kobalt toolbox, I found two small GE 5670w's! LOL!
Gosh its fun to be 74 yrs young!

They were in one of those cardboard boxs!! Hidden in time.
Heck I dont even remember why I have these!!

Atomicbob over at site "x" stated please dont buy up the WE396a's just get one of these GE's and be happy!

Tom let me know what you think of the GE's? @Paladin79

:>)

Alex
So far I have three types of GE and all sound pretty good but I will know more when I compare them to a WE396 which should arrive Friday.

For our Astro buds here @AstronomerXI … when I spin in the office chair (Titan from SecretLab - highly recommended btw)… this is my view, IYKYK… kinda makes high end audio take a bow… :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

(Gotta get Astro back on the wave….)

High end audio is equipment while a fine telescope is an instrument. Of course the equipment's gonna bow to that. :)

Great this will be good...I have both here and am interested in your opinions on both tubes.
I may have to break out the music my group used for 6SN7 comparison, have my wife swap tubes and I will score them. I will have six different tubes soon cause just doing a couple is not enough of a sampling.😁

Probably so, the guy is not shy about asking. 🤪How is your knife holding up Sam?
Fabulous! I must admit that is spends most of its life as a display and conversation piece on the board, everyone thinks that it is far too artistic and unique to be used to slice salami.

I hope that you both enjoy GE 5670Ws. I found them to be a very good sounding tube at a bargain price.

I can remember owning a Fidelity chess challenger created in 1976 that had more capabilities than the computer that helped land us on the moon.🤪
...
Do you pour Jack Daniels into it when you lose, like Kurt Russell in John Carpenter's The Thing.
