Greetings everyone. I'm looking to get some consensus here. I recently purchased a set of ZMF Atticus from a fellow Head-Fier. Shortly after receiving them, I found that one of the drivers was putting out some minor distortion. this is not a knock on the seller, as I think they were okay when I accepted them. I sent a note to Zack asking how to proceed with an out-of-warrantee repair. I quickly received a response with instructions (send them in with a note describing the issue, etc.). I sent them in about a week later, I received a note from Bevin with the cost (very reasonable). I then received a PayPal invoice for the amount due, which I remitted immediately. This was followed by a note confirming receipt of my payment, and a promise that I would get return tracking info within the next few days. This was nearly 3 weeks ago. I have sent numerous emails asking for updates. Response time to my emails has since been very slow, usually 5-6 business days, with no tracking info yet provided.

My question, is this typical of ZMF? I'm not screaming over this; as I mentioned earlier, the quoted cost to replace both drivers was very low; I'm just wondering if the slow response time and the time to complete the repair and return to me is typical.

Thanks for listening!!!

PS: I love the cans and just want my babies back <sob>

Wait times can vary with ZMF,as they are a small company. I know that theyre working very hard to get orders and repairs caught up.

Patience is a virtue, but dont worry ZMF has the best customer service in the industry.

Sorry for the wait on your headphone - this headphone you got used was actually a b stock set - and I told Bevin it should be a quick repair but after examining it I realized it needed numerous things - so I went beyond the initial repair and here's what was done toy our headphone:

1. New pads (for no cost to you). This was necessary to get a perfect pad match for sonic matching. Since our pads are hand stitched it's very important they match. I didn't want to charge you extra since we didn't quote this in the initial cost.

2. I did some finish touch up on one cup, this involved taking the entire headphone apart and putting it back together. Although a b stock set I wanted it to look as good as possible. This is what took the extra time. No cost on this.

3. We replaced the drivers as mentioned above.

The reason for the driver replacement was likely it got a voltage jolt at some point, or it was shipped with the air vents closed in the shipping case. The Atticus/Aeolus driver is very thin and more susceptible to voltage and pressurizing the driver than the Biocel and Be drivers we use in the Verite, auteur and Eikon.

Sorry for the wait - I know 3 weeks can seem like a long time when you just want your headphones back, I just want to make sure they never need to come back again rather than rushing them out. I've put @BooUrns on probably more emails than easily manageable in an effort to get caught up on production, which we're doing a pretty good job of. If you ever have a concern you can email me directly at zach@zmfheadphones.com

Thanks for trying the atticus!

You guys rock!!! Thanks so much and sorry to be a pest. I was never concerned that I would not receive them, just curious as to the delay in email replies. In fact, about 15 minutes after I started this thread (for which I am now hanging my head in shame! :) ), I got the update from Bevin that they are on the way back to me.

I was not aware that they were a B-Stock item, as the original seller did not make that clear (or maybe he did and it got passed me), so further apologies on my part are in order!

Guarantee that these will NOT be the last pair of ZMFs that I will own.

I bought my ZMF Aeolus with a 4.4 extra cable that is faulty. I've send several emails but never received a reply from ZMF.

Sometimes emails go into our spam folder for whatever reason - we are caught up on them and don't have an email about a 4.4 cable. Send @BooUrns a PM here and we will help you.

Thanks!
