I was wondering,

With the right set of plugins I should be able to replicate what that adjustment does - but I want to ask you guys if I'm understanding it correctly:

It first compares the mid signal to the side signal - for this, any mid-side capable Eq should do, I'm going with the Fabfilter Pro Q in this case:

https://www.fabfilter.com/products/pro-q-3-equalizer-plug-in

Is any eq applied to the mid or side signal then? Maybe a high-pass filter because there shouldn't be much bass going on in the side signal anyway?

And then, a slight volume adjustment is done to the mid signal, up to 5dB in each direction or so, without any additional eq going on as far as we know (exposed as hardware or just internally done without adiustment options)?

This could also be done by the gain setting in the Eq, so only one plugin is needed...

So far, so good?
