Bonus functionality: stick a 1TB microSD card, and use as a DAP (running UAPP).
Maybe for my next international vacation, I can use it as a dedicated "international phone" with a local SIM card, and also serve as mobile hotspot to my "real" phone and laptop?

The more I am thinking about it, makes it clear that for $399 - it is a no-brainer (for me)!
Those were the exact use cases I was thinking of. At $399 it’s a YOLO purchase and if it doesn’t work out I could likely offload it on Craigslist for close to what I bought it for since it’s a phone after all.

PolycarbonateShell.jpg

It should be "Polycarbonate shell".
It's close though 😉 Apparently not for me, I thought it was a new Chinese plastic derivative 😳

I knew that UAPP had problems with some type of processors other than Snapdragon... who knows if this phone equipped with a Mediatek processor will have problems with UAPP. We'll know more soon...

我想這些用戶回饋參數測試會有所幫助。如果您不熟悉中文,Google翻譯可能會幫助您理解內容。
看起來MIAD01其實是Dawn Pro和vivo Y78等便宜手機的組合。

So dual CS43131... I imagine it's a choice to reduce consumption and be able to use their internal amplification.

I've uploaded the Part I of my Moondrop MIAD01 review, available for viewing in the video below. If you have any questions, feel free to ask, and I'll respond here.

It's interesting that it is so easy to install google apps on it, given that you bought it from taobao and the Chinese government doesn't allow Google apps on their phones.

Sometimes, since the phone manufacturers buy up all the supply, the integrated DAC/amp chips aren't available, as I understand things. Ditto good camera modules, faster processors, etc.

For me the focal point is the compatibility of this Mediatek processor with UAPP. If not compatible, many of these devices will remain unsold. (personal opinion)

@atechreviews can you try installing UAPP on the phone?
If UAPP reports the HW is not supported - try contacting the (SUPER responsive and nice) UAPP developer. When I got the iBasso DX260 DAP, it was not supported by UAPP... 2 days later - I had a beta version from him that worked like a charm. shortly thereafter, he released an official version WITH added DX260 support! He is a great guy.

With internal DAC/Amp.
OK will do - I notice sometimes UAPP doesn't always detect a hi-res dac when it is advertised by the phone manufacturer.

For example, on my Sony Xperia 10 V although the phone is advertised as having hi-res, UAPP doesn't detect it at all. Is there any other way of knowing for certain?
