I have a Mojo 2 and I'm looking forward to this comparison with the Kensei.
Looking forward to your observations!I have a Mojo 2 and I'm looking forward to this comparison with the Kensei.
Just out of curiosity, why HC3 and not HC4?Trying to decide between the Astell and Kern HC3 and this ifi go bar Kensei. Have a selection of JH Audio iems so want to be able to really enjoy them from a dongle out of my iPhone and MacBook. Not driving any power hungry HPs out of it (desktop setup is for that).
Any advice between the two DAC dongles mentioned?
I wanted to retain the MQA from Tidal while they still have it. Plus it’s a bit cheaper than the HC4 so figured win-win scenario.Just out of curiosity, why HC3 and not HC4?
I find the KA17 to be much less engaging. Don’t get me wrong, I do like the KA17, but I feel much more immersed in the listening experience with the Kensei, but that is also likely because the sound signature difference, warmer mids and much more impactful bass of the Kensei is the better match for me.Just recently got a KA17, not sure if this would be a good investment, or worth the price for the upgrade since the differences between it and the Kensei seem to be a bit subtle. For those that own both, what are your thoughts?
Also had an OG GO Bar and this seems to be a nice upgrade from it. I would get this without a second thought if I didn’t have the KA17.
I got that question quite a bit at AXPONA, looking forward to more impressions as well.I have a Mojo 2 and I'm looking forward to this comparison with the Kensei.

I currently have the Mojo 2 and the Gold Bar here at home and in certain situations I prefer the Gold Bar. But, with some sensitive IEMs, I prefer to use the Mojo 2. I didn't want to have to always use the IEMmatch activated. I ask now and I'm curious about Kensei in relation to this hissing with sensitive IEMs. I wanted to know if there is a difference between the Gold Bar and the Kensei in terms of hissing. In the advertisement it is said that there is an improvement in jitter. Is this a little better compared to Gold Bar? Thanks!!I got that question quite a bit at AXPONA, looking forward to more impressions as well.
I had one gentleman bring his Mojo 2 and he did prefer the Kensei, but that was one opinion in a very noisy environment!
Cheers!!
I was told there is an improvement in jitter from the gold bar. If you do not like using the IEMatch then perhaps Mojo 2 where you aren't getting that would be your best bet.I currently have the Mojo 2 and the Gold Bar here at home and in certain situations I prefer the Gold Bar. I'm looking forward to more impressions about the differences too. And for possible comparisons between Kensei and Gold Bar.I was told there is an improvement in jitter from the gold bar. If you do not like using the IEMatch then perhaps Mojo 2 where you aren't getting that would be your best bet.
Hopefully, we can hear some user impressions between the two units regarding that.
Cheers!!
