Anybody have the issue with Volume Knob with FW 1.2.1 ?

with this firmware, my unit lost the control/ accuracy/responsiveness of the volume knob completely. Volume is stuck when I try to up or down.

Example: Say it is in 60, if I try to lower it, suddenly it jumps to 22 or 25 - then stuck there, then comes to 40 etc - There is no similarly, everytime it is random.

Looks like it got its own mind.

Yes I have the same issue, so I just use the touch screen to adjust the volume. It's really painful to adjust the volume using the knob especially if you are using sensitive IEMs on the DAP.

Hope FiiO fixes it in the next iteration of FW upgrade.

The issue only happens after updating the firmware?
Does the X5III wear the clear case or PU case? If you take it off, does the issue still remains?
Can the factory restore help? Sorry for bringing inconvenience to you.

Yes this issue only happens after updating the firmware 1.2.1 and this the first time I'm experienced this.

My unit always in the supplied black PU case which comes in the box, The problem remains if the unit used without any case.

Factory Reset didn't change or solve this problem.

Dear user,

After a long time of analysis, currently,we think that this problem is caused by Amazon Music itself, but we will still follow that problem.
1. In Amazon music v16.2.4 version， a sampling rate less than 88.2k cannot be played , while v16.1.10 version can.
2. When playing sampling rate 48K in amazon music v16.2.4, the parameters are not set correctly, which lead to the crash of libOpenSLES library
W libOpenSLES: Leaving BufferQueue::Enqueue (SL_RESULT_PARAMETER_INVALID)
AmznMusic_DMPPlayer: [audiodriverimp.cpp :289] Failed to enqueue next frame, enqueue result code = 2
The final result is that the application has no data for the underlying playback. So the underlying mixer programme enters standby mode.

3. When the third-party app starts playback first (the sampling rate is higher than or equal to 88.2k), the underlying will use the previous parameter to set track if you turn on the Amazon Music app after that. And the Amazon Music app could work fine now.

Therefore, this issue with sampling rate less than 88.2k is required to fix by Amazon Music. And we have reported to them as well.
Please also contact Amazon Music if you have the same problem in order to get their attention for fixing this problem in sooner time.

Set the device to storage mode and connect to computer, drag the downloaded FiiO Music (.apk) to the device. Then disconnect the connection and enter ES file explorer/file manager, find the FiiO Music app in internal storage/sd card and click install.
