So... I removed the heatshrink overmolding from the LC-4.4D. It was easy; it took about two minutes with a pair of small scissors and a couple of good pulls at the point where the heatshrink met the plastic MMCX connectors.

Success. This is now a good balanced solution for the Atlas worn hanging down or over the ear.

its also possible to wear comet / atlas with the overmolding :)

Yes you certainly can with the Atlas. (I have no experience with the Comet.) I initially quite liked it. Now I have decided that angle of insertion has a large influence on the Atlas’s sound and I am preferring it without.

Anyway there is no going back. :)

Do D-series cables suffer from cable oxidation? My previous LC-2.5C went green :frowning2:

Check spiral dots with that cable :) awesome combo :)
Got my cable this morning, to replace a failing **** cable, running a pair of AK T8ieMKii with Spiral Dot++ - have to agree, opened up the sound massively compared to the older SPC cable... I'm thinking it is more to do with the fit than any cable alchemy, either way I'll take the much better treble FR :)

Another FiiO product well executed (wish that I could add it to my owned product list on the FiiO website, but - I won't lose too much sleep over the fact that I cannot)

Dear user,

Do you mean that you would like to register your product but failed? You could send the SN code and your user name to us. We could register for you manually.

Best regards

There is a large list of pairings included in my review of FiiO's LC-2.5D, where I pair it with FiiO's own FA7, and many many more! The review is joined with FH7's if you're curious to learn more about FiiO's best IEMs to date :)

@FiiO - Where can I buy the LC-3.5D in the US? I see the LC-2.5D and LC-4.4D on Amazon but not the LC-3.5D. Thanks.

How does it compare to the new Fiio LC-RE soundwise?

The LC-RE consists of three kinds of wires – Furukawa monocrystalline copper, gold-plated monocrystalline copper, and pure silver. This three-precious metals cable improves on the entire spectrum of sound frequencies – you will hear robust and atmospheric bass, soothing and lush vocals, as well as extended and resonant treble. The LC-2.5/3.5/4.4-D cables adopts specifically, monocrystalline pure silver instead. This means less loss when transmitting audio signals over the cable, so that significantly more details are resolved and for a purer audio experience compared to silver-plated copper and even other typical pure silver cables.
And due to individual preferences, you could read the professional reviews and comparisons, as well as try out by yourself.

Best regards

Thanks Fiio. I get an idea of the concepts. One technical question, are the wires individually insulated in the LC-RE as they are in the LC-xD? I suppose that insulation must pay great results in the LC-xD. It´s a very important design issue.
