Can I make a suggestion that the OP adjust the thread title to something more effective, it's very short, doesn't stand out or explain anything about the player. It's the first thing people will see.

As an example see here.

Oh yeah, and a leather case!!!

Looking good!

Not a bit surprised about Hiby and Hiby Music collaboration, and hopefully this means a more mature i5 fw since majority of bugs were ironed out in X7

What can we expect sound-wise compared to the Cayin N6?

i5 should be Android version of N5 with an improved amp section, minus balanced output, and with addition to BT wireless, Wifi streaming, and full touch screen interface, and it should utilize Hiby Music drivers to bypass Android SRC (sample rate conversion) limitation.

N6 is still considered to be a flagship, but seems that N5 been getting all the latest attention.  With i5 around a corner, introduction in a few weeks, I'm afraid it will take a spotlight away from N5.  Just a pure speculation, but I have a feeling aging N6 will be replaced with something like i6 or i7 moving forward.  Natural evolution

Saying it now. achilles heel will be the battery life.  Betting the average will be around 9 hours or so.  If it isn't I'll tip my hat to them.

Don't have the actual test figures as I didn't get around to test the battery duration of i5 sample, just used it in scattered occasion, lets said I wouldn't too worry if 9 hours is what you are looking for. :D :D

I was hoping that we can beat the timetable and be able to do that, but sorry, seems unlikely, so we'll send out the rest of the Portland meet equipments (N5, C5, C5DAC) later this week. :beerchug:

No protection for the volume knob :frowning2: in rest a mixture of iRiver Spinn and IHP series design.

Have tested this briefly, I need to use two fingers to turn the volume knob smoothly, so it is unlikely that the volume will suddenly turns all the way up unintentionally.
