Review by '1eye1derweasil' on item 'Monoprice MHP-839'

I went straight out of the receiver with these and straight out of my clip+. A-B against my M50s.  These Isolate extremely well, better than the M50 IMO, have great bass, clear forward mids and detailed highs. The Treble is slightly recessed, but the headphones aren't dark, I actually found...

Review by '1eye1derweasil' on item 'Fischer Audio ToughStuff-9001'

Straight out of SANSA Clip+ Bass is accurate, punchy and deep, the mids are slightly recessed and the treble is very crisp. Clarity is up to Fischer standards, no veiled sound here.  Overall they sound very similar to the ATH M50, but with less recession and greater clarity (though less...

    Fischer Audio ToughStuff-9001

The first member of the Fischer "tough stuff" line. An IEM designed with durability in mind, while still delivering quality sound.

^ Sounds like you are listening to a damaged pair - My drivers are perfectly stable. Also, bassy headphones aren't for everyone (as I pointed out). So here on Head-fi we tend to play nicer and not take away TOO heavily for something not being to our taste. also KSC75 and Porta's aren't for...

Getting Started    Forewarning I'm a neutral fan and don't like colored or veiled sound, please take that into account. Also My ratings are based around the price - for the money these headphones are undeniably out of the ballpark.    The sources used for this review are my SLS audio...

I think so - I certainly didn't lose any detail or clarity on weaker power sources. However they were slightly less adaptive to bassy music - but they still got the job done while sounding good :)

Review by '1eye1derweasil' on item 'Fischer Audio FA-003'

Good neutral set. I play them out of a vintage Sony Receiver from the early 80's and it provides plenty of power to push these to their limits.  Most versatile set of cans I've owned, everything really sounds good with them. I would however not recommend them for Bassheads, they have the...

Review: Fischer Audio FA-003 - a neutral champ!

I've played these straight from my receiver before, and they still sound fantastic, much better than the m50, I'm a bit of a bass head as well and simply adjusting the eq +2-3 I hit my sweet spot without causing detriment elsewhere MUCH clearer mids than the m50, greater detail, and quite...

you won't be disappointed by Beyerdynamic, the 990 is amazing. I'd also recommend the ATH-M50, probably best sounding bass can south of 300$

At a low enough price these are worth grabbing (40$). At standard MSRP of 70$ they aren't.  Overall I'd compare them roughly to the sound quality of the Panasonic HTS600, just at nearly twice the price.

REVIEW: Fischer Audio FA-011 - OFF THE DEEP END!!

Quote: not sure, but I'd suggest the PA2V2 really good little amp, and should make a bigger difference than the e5

Maverick D1 - it doubles as your dac (which is a good investment)   also it has a tube pre-amp, so if you ever decide to get a dedicated tube amp, this can used    it retails at 200 even, great reviews, and should drive the 011 just fine

REVIEW: Fischer Audio FA-011 - OFF THE DEEP END!!

Quote: Headphones are about creating natural and clear sound, very few (even bass heavy cans) are going to create an "impact" because impact is not usually in the recording itself, but superficially added by the speaker system. Most speakers have a low frequency "hump" which creates that...

REVIEW: Fischer Audio FA-011 - OFF THE DEEP END!!

Quote: The D1 will work fine for both, better for the 003 (require less power)   I own both now, and have gotten a good feel for them each in their own right, I'd say the 003 is superior hands down, and is amazing for jazz   The 011 is good for Jazz...but the 003 is better :) I...

So I never received my tracking # from USPS and hadn't heard anything from GD-audiobase and nothing updated from Russianpost after it left customs. So I had no idea that they were already in town and I came home to find a "failed delivery" notice for the headphones. I'm actually a little angry...

Quote:   The E9 can power anything, but so can an ipod  I said it couldn't DRIVE them adequately. It doesn't mean it powers them poorly. Just not as good as a Class A amp will   Just trying to answer CryptHF's question, no need to get aggressive    Also ziocomposite reaffirmed...

REVIEW: Fischer Audio FA-011 - OFF THE DEEP END!!

Quote: ^ that is probably why you aren't noticing a difference, I doubt the Fiio products can adequatly drive these cans, they are quite power hungry. Also difference will show on higher quality recordings, Flac or 320kbps. Also judging by LFF's review these phones will perform higher...

REVIEW: Fischer Audio FA-011 - OFF THE DEEP END!!

Quote:  Yeah you'll need an amp for these, your soundcard will probably give you enough volume, but the quality will be well short of their potential. I'll be using the Schiit Asgard, but really most desktop amps should power these well.

Review by '1eye1derweasil' on item 'Adidas CX 680 Sports Earcanal Headphones with Volume Control and Earfin Holding System'

Dull neutral sound. Uninviting and while comfortable and stay in place no matter what you're doing they pick up clothing noise in the cable. So they really don't succeed as workout IEM's.

    Review by '1eye1derweasil' on item 'Audio-Technica ATH-M50S'

For the right price these are worth it. At 80-100$ they're a good buy. At MSRP of 150$ I would pass.  Excellent bass extension; play well out of mp3 players as well as amps; very detailed and "fun" sounding. Lacking in the midrange for vocals personally. Great for bassheads, neutral fans look...
