Yes, it works. I've used them with a couple different items (DAC, iFi Phono, etc.) and they do work.Sorry if of topic, Im thinking about buying ifi ipower 2 for Ifi Zen Dac v2.
It's a power supply that claims to lower noise.

Thanks for the vote of confidence! We appreciate it!Yes, it works. I've used them with a couple different items (DAC, iFi Phono, etc.) and they do work.
I was using iPower devices in one form or another before I even started working for them, so I would also concur with what you said here!
Best thing to do is search hear as we have several different Silent Power products, although your best bet would be to get an iPower 2 first, purchase from somewhere with a good return ability, and see the difference for yourself! Everyone hears different levels of what these products can do so best to trust your own ears!
Cheers!!

I also use a iPower X 5V and can recommend it while linear power supplys still can give you a bit more SQ the iPower devices are very great switching power supplys (and i would argue that probably most linear power supplys in that same price category suck)

I know one thing, getting a Flux Mentor kills all noise with it's amazing blackness. I hear no grey from my Yggy OG, either.

It's what people say about the OG Yggy but I never heard it tbh. My chain was already set and had Mentor on hand when I got the Yggy. Why would schitt be grey sounding?
But they say the blacker background is a signature of the More is Better and Less is More versions. But the synergy with Mentor negates that slight advantage. The OGs have better dynamics and plankton. It's fabulous on a Mentor.
Mentor is a stackable Class A dual-mono amplifier from Flux Lab Acoustics (Ukraine). Puts out 11w with one unit ($1299) and 33w with two ($2599)! Unbelievable amp for the money. Quite dynamic with an incredible blackness and a huge soundstage with width and depth.

I actually added a lot of ferrite clamps on my computer cables, not audio cables though. They don't do any harm at least. Not very sure if they help. In theory they should.there is good reason to tape off the power... you dont carry a "dirty" powerline over the cable that you might not end up needing anyway
Imo trust your gut, if taping off the power line sounds better go with it (specially if you dont use it anyway)
im currently planning to build/create a pcb/dongle that sits in the pc to cut off power, filter datalines and some filter capacitor on the power line when its used (or, when the power is cut off to still filter the usb port power (which still seems to affect things in my tests))
Currently still using cheap cables... imo you can do a lot with ferrite beads too, dont feel scared to use them as long your dac doesnt lose connection

I used an ifi ipowerX to power my DAC, which is a big step up from an Apple charger, very noticeable improvement. However later on I got a similar priced LPS and found LPS is slightly better. Adding a good power cable makes the LPS even better.Sorry if of topic, Im thinking about buying ifi ipower 2 for Ifi Zen Dac v2.

My experience as well, with iPower X and Zero-Zone LPS.I used an ifi ipowerX to power my DAC, which is a big step up from an Apple charger, very noticeable improvement. However later on I got a similar priced LPS and found LPS is slightly better. Adding a good power cable makes the LPS even better.
