I purchased a ROMI mod Cayin N8 from a fellow head-fier to replace Fiio BRT5 for EE Odin.
But I keep going back to BTR5!! Declaration, I am only using Spotify + LDAC on both N8 and BTR5 to listen to Korean Songs, BTS and Blackpink Izone etc..
The BTR5 has this insane forward mids so I can easily focus on vocals in any songs while bass still hitting very hard.
While N8 may have clearer sounds, bass wasn't that much different to BTR5 and most importantly is vocal just blends to the rest of the frequency. I don't know what I am listening, I guess my listening experience i smore leaning towards having extreme forwards mids.
I am looking for someone in Melbourne to do a blind test, tell me which one do you prefer, BTR5 or N8. they are 20x difference in price..... I cant believe with LDAC and Korean songs, the two dacs are not that different and i don't want to believe that. I tried to EQ N8 but couldn't get to a forwards vocal like BTR5.
