The HE1 is the most holographic headphone I have heard. It sounded so realistic I kind of forgot to even focus on other aspects. Do you feel the same way about the SL Sr?

I did once get to hear the SL SR vs the Susvara and preferred the Susvara over all. It was at Can Jam but it was opening time on the Sunday and the place was very quiet. The previous day I had been able to hear the HE1 was delightful but I couldn't tell you which was better as they were on quite different systems and on 2 different days. Also I was not as relaxed as I might of been with the HE1 as I was sitting beside Axel Grell while listening to them!!!

I have the Orpheus HE90 here and Voce, and the Jade II. Would love to compare these to the HE90.

@gordec, yes I do feel its "holographic" but Perhaps it's more the "large" sounding image that captured my attention than it being holographic sounding. If I ever do have the chance to hear the HE1, I'll update this review with a little comparison.

@ufospls2 have you had any mold issues? Apparently other owners have had issues because the foam is not properly protected

Hello,

I agree with @ufospls2 that the Shangri-la SR headphones are for me the most accomplished headphones ever for listening Classical Music and Abyss 1266 are out of the game on this matter.

Be aware Shangri-la SR owners that they can drive these headphones with another amplifier from VIVA Audio:
http://vivaaudio.com/en/products/egoista-stx/

Comparing the Hifiman amplifier and the Egoista STX shows that being at sound quality, price level, craftsmanship, VIVA is a very good and better, I think, alternative to the Hifiman complete setup and a high level way to own those incredibly sounding headphones.
