Has anyone compared Puritan to isolation transformers such as Torus? I hope I can do a home demo of both but... Puritan has DC block, but Torus has isolation. Not sure which way to go.

I used an ifi ipowerX to power my DAC, which is a big step up from an Apple charger, very noticeable improvement. However later on I got a similar priced LPS and found LPS is slightly better. Adding a good power cable makes the LPS even better.

I actually added a lot of ferrite clamps on my computer cables, not audio cables though. They don't do any harm at least. Not very sure if they help. In theory they should.

I figure it helps reducing the noise caused by the power line. But could be placebo anyhow. Sometimes the first impression can be inaccurate, and you need more time to figure out a new stuff is better or worse.

I like the idea that optical completely isolates electical noises from source, but didn't realize that the conversions of light/electic on both sides could introduce jitters. Guess my next experiment will be fuse instead of optical. Thanks for the comment!
