Dali's Soft Magnetic Composite Driver
I actually appreciate everyone who has posted in this thread. I think another way of interpreting Gregorio's response to you about the lossy codecs. I want to share some thoughts, everyone here has been amazing so far. These are my thoughts after doing lots of reading and I am not trying to...- MiffyRabbit

Thank you for this! Also Gregario, I got curious and ended up going down the rabbit hole and installed Foobar and ABX extension tested out 160 kbps vs CD ripped FLAC and 192 kbps vs Audio CD/FLAC. For LAME mp3 at 160 kbps. I have failed many times and had to replay certain parts over and over...- MiffyRabbit

Thank you Angelom for sharing your personal experience and thoughts. You are absolutely right about the benefits of battery life, most bluetooth headphones like Sony XM5, Dali IO-12, Beoplay H95, Momentum 4, Focal Bathys, etc typically have battery life in the 30 hour or more range and all...- MiffyRabbit

That actually presents something for me to think about! When I looked up the Fiio BTR 7 specs the one KinGensai recommended, it has a Qualcomm QCC5124 Bluetooth chip. Sennheiser Momentum 4 Qualcomm's QCC5141 Focal Bathys Qualcomm chipset QCC 5127 Dali IO-12 supports APT codecs so it has some...- MiffyRabbit

Fascinating talk at CanJam this year
Thank you for the correction! Ahhh! So essentially, a lot of special boutique DACs tend to fall in. 1. They can measure better than other DACs, but in an accurate and faithful listening test, it would sound like any other DAC that is made. Due to the limits of human hearing, since our hearing...- MiffyRabbit

Just to add, Chord Mojo 2 is made by Chord/Rob Watts. I do appreciate that it is Made in Britain but these marketing claims are definitely skeptical... Here at the bottom of the FPGA marketing, there is a claim that the Mojo 2 contains more digital audio know-how than any other small DAC...- MiffyRabbit

Thank you for those tools. Whoa I checked the Kiwi Ears Orchestra lite and they are $249, Zero 2 must be really good value. What I can do is start off from Zero 2 and see how it goes from there, $25 is not a bad starting point actually. Much appreciated!- MiffyRabbit

Oh my mistake, you meant the Momentum 3 true wireless earbuds! I am actually pretty open to either Earbuds or Bluetooth headphone. I have a Sennheiser HD600 for home listening, but I am usually not home. For the next two years, I might be commuting a lot, moving after graduation, working after...- MiffyRabbit

Hey greatly appreciate your thoughts on here as with the others who posted. Between Momentum 4 and Dali IO-12 if you had to fly on an airplane, take a 3-6 hour train ride, which would you pick? I took a look at the carrying case for both, and the Dali's look much bigger, would this case fit in...- MiffyRabbit

Yeah there is big store called World of Stereo and Audio Vision but they don't have it in stock. Unfortunately, I won't be able to travel to Asia probably for another couple years. https://audiovisionsf.com/ https://worldofstereo.com/ I live around two hours away from San Francisco. So I...- MiffyRabbit

Unfortunately, not. I looked at the inventories of all nearby audio shops. There is a big store that I usually would go to for hard to find equipment, but even they didn't have it in stock. I wouldn't have minded taking a train 1 hour and 30 minutes to test out gear. That sounds like a great...- MiffyRabbit

If you don't mind if I inquire, what Bluetooth products do you own for at home. I have heard from my colleagues they use apple airpods pro or even just air pods even at home and it sounds great to them.- MiffyRabbit

On my search for a affordable bluetooth headphone, I've noticed people on Head-Fi peer pressuring others to jump up to a $1,300 bluetooth headphone that is the best headphone ever. I saw posts that Dali was advertising that their expensive headphone sounds just like an electrostatic headphone...- MiffyRabbit

Yep I got the Samsung S24+ so it has that new Ultra HDR feature built in to the camera. Also I am glad your wife likes Miffy too! Funny you mention, my wife also has loved it as well, she got me hooked after she mentioned that I was her long lost bunny when we first met.- MiffyRabbit

The sound is really fantastic, this is the first headphone I've ever gotten that's wood and has 53mm driver size. The driver is also angled which provide some extra sound staging, while it's not as big as R70x since it's an open back. There is more isolation in exchange. I've played guitar...- MiffyRabbit
