@zach915m @AnyDave could you please confirm the weight difference of the magnesium vs aluminum chassis on the CC? And is there a way to order the Ash CC with the BBB strap?- lauthoerer

Is there a general consensus on magnesium vs aluminum chassis? Los it really only the weight difference that you pay for? What exactly is the difference for the CC?- lauthoerer

Icon Audio HP8/MP 3
Thanks for the insight, @G8torbyte ! The hum does increase with turning up the volume, but, indeed, when it’s negligible (E3, HD820), that’s only when turned up to a measure way too loud to listen to anyway. I guess I’ll write to icon Audio and see if there’s a shop in Germany they can recommend.- lauthoerer

Icon Audio HP8/MP 3
(Bringing this over from the Violectric thread) The weird/annoying thing with the hum is that it’s practically all but gone with the E3 (27Ω), not that big an issue with the HD820 (300Ω), noticeable with the Bokeh (80Ω) and totally annoying with VC (300Ω), which makes no sense in my view. But...- lauthoerer

Violectric V222 and V202
Really just the heat and the size. As much as I loved the sound of it, I realized after a couple of weeks in use (in the winter!) that it just wouldn’t work in my setup come spring/summer. Got the HP8, then, and am pretty happy with that one (and will be even more once I got fully rid of the hum).- lauthoerer

Violectric V222 and V202
I‘m glad that I don’t have to decide between a V281LE and a V322 as I’d love to be able to adjust gain comfortably from the front (I‘m fiddling daily with those dip switches on the back) but I prefer the look of the LE much more. I enjoyed the VU meters on my HA-6A but on the new V3s I think...- lauthoerer

Yup! Just also spotted these on IG. The most intruiging to me being the pre-gain knob of the front of the 322/324!- lauthoerer

Got it. Very clear now. Thanks! Thinking about using one GM City with my tube amp or DAC separately (using one of the RCA inputs) to ground it, so they don’t „buzz“ each other… It’s really only the tube amp that’s humming, so don’t think it’s a „general“ issue.- lauthoerer

Cheers. So that is Wall socket > GM City > Route Master > PSM156? Not quite sure where/how these are connected to each other... (I've seen the pics and read the product info, but still not sure where the cables are plugged into) I'm asking as I'm currently upgrading my power supply from an...- lauthoerer

ZMF Verite Closed-New Closed Back ZMF Flagship.
Anyone using the ZMF Grand Silver Palladium with their VCs (or AC or CC)? Currently drive them with a Meze Silver Plated PCUHD cable (which sounds pretty good to me) and wanted to check if it’s worth the money as an upgrade. Also, I should add, I feel like the silver cables are especially keen...- lauthoerer

Where could I find some more info on those upgrades? Didn’t know these are even offered (only knew about the ultimate mains cable). Anyone here have any experience with the Lab12 gordian, standalone or in comparison to the PSM156?- lauthoerer

Sennheiser HD820
I very much think so (see previous page). But I also agree that a tube amp is a great match for these. Heard them on all Cayin amps and saw a linear improvement with each (incl the HA-6A I’m selling).- lauthoerer

Niimbus Ultimate Series US4/US4+/US5/US5 Pro Headphone Amps - by Lake People
I like Ohio Players alright, incl the expansion in sound, but enjoy the old ones a lot more. Realized that I only had Magic Portion in physical form, though I could have sworn that I had more of them, so got the 10 year anniversary LPs for Brother and El Camino and threw in Delta Kream for good...- lauthoerer

Meanwhile, my VC just sounds AMAZING with the US5, as does the Bokeh in it’s own right. Been listening to a lot of Black Keys the last two days, which synched perfectly with the VC. Right now, it’s Picaresque by the Decemerists, where I rotated in the HD820 and E3, which both sounded hollow...- lauthoerer
