Bakoon HDA-5210MK4 (and related Bakoon Products/Satri Circuit Laboratory news)

Recently, I replaced the headband and ear pads of the HEDDs. The fit is now perfect. My impressions have therefore changed. With the HDA-5520 mkII, the HEDDs sound wonderfully good. There is more life than with the old headband and earpads. Lots of sense of space, realism, imaging, good...

Bakoon HDA-5210MK4 (and related Bakoon Products/Satri Circuit Laboratory news)

Well, well... The versatility of this SATRI is surprising (since, at first sight, it doesn't seem to give so much of itself). During the last hours of the afternoon I've been playing with the voltage outputs of the SE300... after reading, albeit diagonally, a review by @GoldenSound about...

Bakoon HDA-5210MK4 (and related Bakoon Products/Satri Circuit Laboratory news)

Although I haven't done a critical listening of the HEDDs connected to the HDA-5520 mkII enough to do a review...., I'm not sure it's the best combination. I would venture to say that it lacks the musicality or fluidity that I find with, for example, the CALDERA, among others. IMHO, of...

Bakoon HDA-5210MK4 (and related Bakoon Products/Satri Circuit Laboratory news)

The synergy with the CALDERA is very good. Very enjoyable. They don't sound as explosive as with OOR, for example, but it's close enough. The HDA-5520 MKII is very —very— transparent... and does not alter the flavor of the CALDERA at all.

Typically about 30h with the gain switch on.... before it starts to distort (there is no other indicator than this). It is amazing!

Bakoon HDA-5210MK4 (and related Bakoon Products/Satri Circuit Laboratory news)

This is what arrived a few days ago (spoiler: and stays): And with the EMPYs and LCD-3s (and the satri, with holster): Both headphones transform —yes, just like that-with the HDA-5520 MK2. I don't think I've ever listened to the LCD-3 like I did today with the satri. Not even with...

ZMF Caldera - New Planar Magnetic from ZMF!

In a previous post I dared to compare them, since I own (and listen to) both. This was the summary (IMHO, obviously): CHARYBDIS: enormously resolute, without falling into tonal imbalance; details at the tip of the iceberg that, however, are not thrown in your face; they translate dynamic...

ZMF Caldera - New Planar Magnetic from ZMF!

I completely agree: EMPYREANs scale enormously with proper amplification. I am referring to the adjustment of the rod. Well, I imagine that the Rinaro driver, when focusing on the bass, demands precisely that: a fine adjustment.

ZMF Caldera - New Planar Magnetic from ZMF!

Let's go now with the EMPYs... Let's go now with the EMPYs... I start with a footnote. Of the ones I own, the EMPYREANs are the most difficult headphones to adjust. And not because they are not comfortable with almost any adjustment, but because their "—those low mids a little bit...

ZMF Caldera - New Planar Magnetic from ZMF!

During these days I have been listening to the CALDERA's with the stock cables, as I had understood, from what I had read around, that they were more than fine. And they certainly are. I also listened to them with the Meze silver ones... but, at least at the time, I didn't get the feeling that...

ZMF Caldera - New Planar Magnetic from ZMF!

I wouldn't go so far as to say that the CHs beat the CALs. They are very different flavors. Technically, CH may be a few rungs higher than CAL. But the CALs have something to love.... (but not only: technically they are also convincing). As some of us here say, when you put them on, you can't...

ZMF Caldera - New Planar Magnetic from ZMF!

...in contrast to the CHARYBDIS —and beyond the first (and second) impressions... First of all: the CHARYBDIS are headphones that require a very fine tuning. I know we could say this about almost all headphones. But I think that the CHARYBDIS are particularly demanding —as are, for example, the...

ZMF Caldera - New Planar Magnetic from ZMF!

Yes, it is surprising that they work with the FELIKS. However, the EUFORIA is a somewhat particular OTL. I don't know how it does it, but it works. And well. Maybe I have this impression because I listen mainly to classical music... which doesn't usually provide exaggerated bass or sub-bass...

ZMF Caldera - New Planar Magnetic from ZMF!

I agree almost completely with your description of both. It is like this. The Caldera are very special. They don't stand out in anything, like many other TOTLs. But you don't miss anything either. Hence they are hugely addictive. With the CALDERA it's hard to stop and think: "how good are these...

ZMF Caldera - New Planar Magnetic from ZMF!

They arrived this afternoon. VERY good first impressions (couldn't be otherwise either ). With the OOR/HYPSOS combo they are simply out of this world, but with the ACRO —for the moment, I have only listened to the CALDERA with these two amps and for a couple of hours—? If I had only...

Can you handle the Beast! Introducing the iDSD Diablo 2!!

I have been listening this afternoon to the new PB5 OSPREY connected, successively, to the TAIPAN and the SE300, with the HEKSE and the LCD-3. Power to spare. However, I was not convinced.... A bit "topping": clean, despite the "tubes", separates well, good dynamics, but does not offer, in my...

Can you handle the Beast! Introducing the iDSD Diablo 2!!

Thank you Thor, for your input (as always). I don't know about electronic engineering, but in any case I have the impression that the DIABLOs move the planar —also the dynamic ones— with a joy, so to speak, that I don't hear in, for example, the ACRO CA1000, being this, without doubt, a good...

Can you handle the Beast! Introducing the iDSD Diablo 2!!

Well, after a few hundred hours with the DIABLO 2, Thorsten Loesch's prediction is confirmed: the sound has left behind that initial bloom, getting closer to that of the DIABLO OG. However, I would venture to say that they don't sound exactly the same. Maybe because the filter is not the...

Can you handle the Beast! Introducing the iDSD Diablo 2!!

Well, the measurement issue - ugly - does not detract from the fact that it is a good product. It looks like one to me. Well, I'm convinced. In fact, @Goldensound doesn't deny it either (and this regardless of the new implementations). I think iFi doesn't need to pull any punches to defend its...
