While usual aluminum casings is ususally better at emi protection, the stainless steel housing on the kensei should still be more then enough 'protection'

The + ver is suited for higher amperage/current/power devices.

Fyi zen dac sig v2 is $290 on amazon.com. It comes stock with an ipower2, (ipower2 sounds better to me then ipowerX too) I personally think the zen dac sig v2 smokes the regular zen dac v2 with or without the ipower2, but it is indeed more expensive.

Looking forward to seeing if you think it sounds better then v2!

Some people immediatly write it off as being too expensive, but honestly if the dac and amp are as good as some reviewers say, it looks like a great all in one flagship.

Zen dac 3's SNR and DNR numbers are worse then v2's, so take that as you will.

For what it's worth the zen DAC prob doesn't use much power at all at idle. And I think the ipower will be sucking power even when unplugged from the zen DAC and still connected to the wall. This is assuming you care about the power aspect.

I would strongly recommend not 'upgrading' to v3, unless you really need usb C input for some reason. You could try out a 5v ipower2 for your zen DAC v2

No, there is nothing in the marketing material that would imply this is audibly better then the v2, in any way shape or form. Infact one or two the the dynamic range numbers or something look are worse then the v2. Which is, very strange if true. If you really want a zen dac upgrade...
