For sale is Schiit Bifrost 2/64. There was a local deal for a Yggy+ that was too good to pass up so I’m no longer using the Bifrost. The unit works flawlessly. The top plate has some light scuffing. I tried my best to photograph them. Lmk if you need more pics of it. The remote also has some...- mattiastomas

ZMF Atrium Closed
The ZMF pro cable. Definitely like it more than the ofc. It’s pliable, doesn’t hold shape and I think it sounds a bit better than ofc. I think it’s an awesome price point for what you get- mattiastomas

I really do enjoy the RCA 5691s. Haven't felt the need to roll different preamp tubes since i got em. You used to own a Quicksilver right? I did too. And built the DIY Aegis after. Its a huge jump. Sold my Quicksilver right after that.- mattiastomas

For a budget option I’ve been eyeing this. I like the design and the smaller footprint suits my smaller apartment. https://a.co/d/2rioWa9- mattiastomas

Thanks for the suggestion! The WA2 definitely is on the list to consider. Might try more tube rolling on the Aegis first to see. Seems the most economical 🤣- mattiastomas

Thanks for the info! I did demo the Decware/ZMF OTL but it’s abit outside my price range 😅 I’m definitely keen on trying out the Mullard EL37s. Been keeping an eye out on a pair- mattiastomas

Thats a fair point. I am getting decent holographic-ness with the Aegis. Maybe I could roll more holographic tubes. Its kinda hard to figure out. Like you hear something and you get a certain sound / tone stuck in your head and its now your mission to recreate that sound.- mattiastomas

I think my main goal for the OTL would be to have a really holographic sound. Heard the Atrium Opens on an OTL and it was really holographic and amazing.- mattiastomas

I think being a 3-amp person ain't bad. I currently have the Aegis. And my V281 covers solid state. So maybe an OTL and I'll be content. (For a little while). Also it doesn't help that for the past 2 CanJam NYC I've heard the modded bottlehead crack (I think it was done by Kevin?) and that...- mattiastomas

Loaded question incoming. For those who have the Aegis (DIY or ZMF version) and OTL tube amp and ZMF dynamic drivers. Do you prefer ZMF DD on the Aegis or on an OTL? I have the Aegis and thoroughly enjoy my ZMFs on the Aegis but have a nagging feeling that I still want an OTL amp 😅- mattiastomas

ZMF Aegis Official Thread
I don't see why not. DCA Stealth for example is 23ohms. The Aegis is Output Impedance Range: 1/4" Out: Low: 5ohms, Med: 11ohms, High: 31ohms. XLR Out: Low: 11ohms Med: 28ohms High: 85ohms- mattiastomas

ZMF BOKEH - Closed Back (Semi-Portable)
I can understand why the netting is the direction it is because I think if it was the other way, when you close it to zip it the stuff would fall out. Maybe a full netted area with a zipper? that way the items would be secure either way.- mattiastomas

ZMF BOKEH - Closed Back (Semi-Portable)
I would say that I wish the netting was the other way around. The way it is now, if you hold the case by the handle anything in the netting falls out due to gravity as the opening for the netting faces downwards. Other than that I do quite like the case.- mattiastomas
