anyone know why my ka17 randomly stops playing sound paired to my android device? Everything looks normal and music player app still playing but no sound unless i replug in

I've been having a problem with my ka17 where it randomly seems to stop outputting sound until I reconnect via USB? Everything else looks normal screen working, can adjust volume setting, music player (in this case Spotify on pixel 6 pro) looks like it's still playing. Anyone experiencing...

Probably the one that says preferred for imaging and soundstage filters will do the same as other model

He has the upgrade cable in those photos that comes with changeable terminations. I am unsure if the standard comes with the same but I think it does since they don't offer a choice in termination.

Is there a description available somewhere for what each of the filters are? (Phase, impulse etc)

Just use a usb power source listed as outputting at least 1a.

I'd say turning off MQA is just overall better, regardless.

Desktop mode does not require the secondary usb port connected if the source device supplies enough power. Many android do, iphone do not.

Upgrading my previous recommendation of dongle dac pair with the Scarlets of the Fiio KA13 to the Fiio KA17.. Definitely a big step up. Dynamics lifted, 'veil' gone, better separation, bass more controlled..

I understand, the thing is they offer a preamp gain adjust on the EQ page to do just that per profile. Say you apply a 5db boost somewhere, then just set the pre-amp gain to -5.1. Yet they seem to add one on top anyway? Whats the point of having the option to do it yourself if its not necessary...

Got my KA17 today, loving it! It is a big step up in sound quality compared to the KA13 for sure. But got a question.. I noticed that the custom user EQ profiles reduce the volume even if EQ pre-gain slider is set to 0 and even if there are no adjustments made to the profile. So switching EQ on...

Not supported on UAC1 and pcm only up to 192/24. I don't believe it would work for MQA. Not that thats a problem really. :)

It's unfortunate loss of convenience, but you can still change everything including parametric eq directly through the device itself from my understanding..

As much as I have been enjoying the Fiio KA13 with the Scarlets, i could not hold back from ordering the new KA17. I did have a small feeling like the KA13 is just not quite up to par with the Scarlet in terms of sound quality, even though it absolutely delivers on power which makes it better...

Recently bought a KA13 and i love it, but would have bought a higher quality like KA5 if it had the extra power.. Now theres the KA17 with i assume better quality, the power on tap PLUS parametric EQ and it's got me wondering.. But feel like its excessive spending..

In what ways can you adjust the EQ through the device itself? Can you set EQ presets and then recall them without opening the app back up? Can you adjust individual parameters with the buttons? For example can you set a bass shelf and adjust it directly?

I agree, its weird. I think its just the measurements some person took and then the autoeq guys just used a script to read the image and make adjustments without any testing or anything. It's off.

I just received my set of NiceHCK Maple cables. I really love them! I dig the weight of them more then how light the stock scarlet red ones are. You got heavy bass so why not some heft to go with it? :D The red colour is a superb match with the Scarlets, from the shade of red to the shimmer...

Yes, they aren't the most comfortable of the tips i tried, but they do seem to sound the best. I will give it some more time and experimentation. What tips are you using?

I tried the CP240 with the Scarlets. I didn't really like the pairing too much. Felt a little bloaty to me. Felt it killed the soundstage and any sense of air. More bass quantity but not as defined. I think its hard to be sensitive to the treble on the Scarlets because if you have the volume up...
