Phone interferences with my Headphone cable

Try moving the phone near different connectors to listen when it gets louder to see what connector is picking up the interference. First thing is process of elimination to see if it's a cable that doesn't have enough shielding.

The Deals DISCUSSION Thread (READ THE FIRST POST!!!)

Here's some good deals this week from a few different places. DROP Mass Liquid Carbon X + SDAC DAC/Amp $199 https://www.amazon.com/DROP-Mass-Liquid-Carbon-SDAC/dp/B081RDL5HL/ I don't know this reseller (I work direct with the tier ones) and no indication of warranty like Hifi-College or...

Review by 'dunring' on item 'SMSL DO200 Pro Balanced DAC'

I just got one of these today, shipped by Fedex from Aoshida-US and bought myself for $399 on Amazon. It's so new they shipped it direct from their factory, but should be in Amazon warehouses shortly. I have an audio equipment business, and have plenty of other high end ones to compare it to...

Which types of music will you mainly be using it for? Also if it's for gaming too will really help on a recommendation. At that price point it's good to get the tuning that suits you best.

    Endgame or not yet?

Endgame is a set tuned just the way you like and prices on IEMs have come down so much for quality it doesn't mean expensive anymore. Try the 7hz Salnotes Zero:2 to get an idea how great something can sound for $24. For me, the law of diminishing returns is the Moondrop Kato which I love using...

KZ PR1 or PR3 Getting my feet wet on Planar world!

The best female vocals would be the Truth ear Zero blue with an Apple 3.5mm to USB adapter because they need a little more power than a phone provides. I've had the PR1 and PR3 and would take the 7hz Salnotes Zero:2 over either. The planar worth getting is pricey, the 7hz Timeless original (not...

New Wired IEM Suggestion ($100-$200 range)

The Moondrop Kato are my favorite, fun with air in the treble and bass hits when a song calls for it. For less the 7hz Salnotes Zero:2 are the value for money winners though. A $9 Apple USB to 3.5mm adapter has more than enough power for any IEM. Those and the 7hz Timeless original, not the AE...

I have the Beyerdynamic Amiron Home's w/ Magni+/Modi+. I am wanting more bass. Should I EQ or sell for Audeze LCD-2C?

Those have a lot of mid bass but not a deep extension. Try in a music player you have, to add +3 or 4db to the lowest slider, like 31hz if it's got that. If there's a preamp reduction like in Musicbee then bring it down for each db you increase.

    gear suggeestions

For IEMs it's all about low noise floor. On audiosciencereview Amir does a 50mv test and anything that hits a 95 or higher is worth shopping for. The best I've ever heard 10ohm IEMs was a Topping E50 DAC on optical and a Topping L30 II amplifier. That pair also frees up the balanced out for...

Should I buy one of these, or instead treat my g/f to a Michelin * meal?!

I'm using a Topping A70Pro and with a 5v DAC I don't think it's technically possible to get better than it. The SMSL SP400 is also great with a higher voltage DAC like yours is.

    In-ear headphone recommendation?

The best value for money is the 7hz Salnotes Zero:2 which don't need equalizing or an amp, good for all types of music with Harman curve tuning. They're light and the silver color is pretty conservative, though the blue I had was cool too. There's no "ruggedized" IEM since they're small by...

Schiit in the Parts Bin, Best Setup for my Better Half?

If you check Amazon warehouse for a 15" monitor riser, they mark them down dramatically for some reason. I bought two and the vented metal ones free up a lot of desk room and allow air circulation if she has 15 inches width of clearance. I'd either use the Jot and multibit, or just sell it...

Is there any budget audio line-in USB adaptor?

Soundblaster X6 is $69 with free shipping, no tax, and 90 day warranty. https://us.creative.com/p/refurbished/sound-blasterx-g6-b-stock I've bought a couple from them, you don't need to install the software for it, Windows will find it ok. Also it works with ASIO4All if you use that. 112 SINAD...

    channel imbalance or ears?

The quick way is install a decibel meter phone app and use an online test tone generator to sweep through the frequencies and switch the left and right to compare. Just center the headphones so the phone mic is centered.

    Does Adapter affect sound quality?

I've got two of them, it's a very good performer and won't affect the sound quality. It has a low output impedance, so its not going to change the frequency response.

Solid-state drivers - the future of portable sound to headphones?

I've had the Creative Ace2 IEMs with the Xmens solid state drivers. The mids and highs were exceptionally fast, even more responsive than planar magnetic with no chance of congestion on busy tracks. The dynamic driver for bass was pretty typical sound though. They're worth it depending on...

Planar Magnetic Headphones and heart pacemakers

I use an EMI detector phone app that uses a phones magnetometer to measure USB ports for noise. Might be useful to check the distance from a headphone driver to see the distance and how strong the magnetic field reads compared to other devices.

Looking for a 3k usd dac

State of the art performance has come way down in price. The Topping D70Pro Octo is amazing, just put it together with an A70Pro for a client and it's flawless. Planar Magnetic Clicking

Its not, there's something amiss if you hear that. Have you tried plugging it into something else to narrow down if it's the source? Has anyone tried the SMSL SU-9 Pro and/or SMSL SU-9 Ultra? I wanted to know if the Pro model has the same "black background" as the Ultra model

For a DAC it's the connection that determines noise floor, like if you have noisy USB ports. I always go on Audisciencereview to choose from a DAC with no jitter penalty for optical connections. The other for amplifiers is check the 50mv test which determines noise floor. The most silent noise...

Falling in love, out, and back again: the HD600

Those are hard to beat at any price. I've had every Sennheiser except the Orpheus of course (until I win the lottery) and the HD600 is my favorite. Easy to equalize. For thumping sub bass, the Beyerdynamic DT770 250 ohm really get a move on when the song calls for it. Also the new DT770 Pro X...
