Not necessarily. 12au7 run at 6.3V correctly on these amps, with only passive adapters. That said, the only great 12au7 I’ve had is the Telefunken G73r, though I’m sure there are other excellent NOS choices. Current production ones all sound fine, but aren’t particularly interesting.

After getting the TM, I felt no need to keep the Mo. I had already sold/traded the ER. I kept the WE. I use TM and WE approximately equally now, with less frequent use of the also very fun AN4300E.

That’s a computer/HQP problem. Spring 3 KTE can take 1.5M PCM from HQP.

Sure. For 6SN7 — Linlai, Shuguang, Apos Audio (relabeled). There are others. Current 12au7 can be used at 6.3V with adapters. But NOS tubes are better. That is why there are thousands of HeadFi pages on these amps and tube options.

What audiophool SFPs and fibre do you currently prefer? I’ve just replaced my cheap FMC with a LHY FMC, and noted a surprisingly large difference. Other end is LHY SW-10, and computer has usbc FMC to the other optical port. Cat8 to the streamer (Red). So I need to replace 4 SFPs and 2 fibres.

I got mine used at 300 hours. They were great at that point, and improved out to 600, actually.

And hopefully most current version of NAA…

Actually, I’m only using NAA. Roon -> HQP -> Red, so I don’t know.

I have an extra card. I will try this.
