Aegis DIY Tube Headphone Amplifier
I tell you, it’s getting a little tricky sometimes shopping for NOS tubes online. There’s a listing that looks like a gec kt66 labelled ARS, but digging in it turns out to be Chinese new production. It was too good to be true!- DenverW

Indeed, the Nautilus. It is very long, but not so deep. Basically just a little bigger in length than the aegis, but actually fits just as well on the shelf as the Aegis did. I really need to get a better audio rack/shelf; the one i'm using is a converted bookshelf, and is pretty terrible...- DenverW

What a great time to have a holiday weekend? Moved some gear around in order to try some new things! This amp is just as good as I remember from canjam socal. Smooth and effortless. Testing out a Modhouse Tungsten Double Magnet and it's weekend fun! On the Atrium closed separation and...- DenverW

That should be fine, but I always defer to LG. It's a bit more, but I'd also look at: https://partsconnexion.com/collections/duelund-capacitor-collection/products/duelund-0-22uf-630vdc-cast-pio-cu-ag-hybrid-copper-silver-foil-capacitor?_pos=4&_fid=2278feb94&_ss=c- DenverW

I haven't been able to demo the E3, but have heard excellent things about it. In regards to the stealth and expanse, I was not a fan of the stealth. I found it completely lacking in engagement, which is unfortunately something that I've found in DCA tuning for quite a while. The expanse was...- DenverW

Are Zmf auteur classic worth it?
Yes, they're worth it, however, depending on what the rest of your system looks like, the Bokeh may be the better choice. The Bokeh are excellent on so many different sources. I personally prefer the auteur overall, however I feel that they're pickier with amps to sound their best. OTL tube...- DenverW

I think we’re both addicted to DIY. Even the idea of picking out new colours for the chassis, different caps, etc, make me giddy with happiness! Remember when DCA released the alpha dog as a diy? I made three over the years. I kept trying to make them better and better.- DenverW

I love Jupiter caps, and have also had great experiences with duelund. Ive read great things about vcap but haven’t heard them. When building my next aegis I’ll probably go Duelund for variety. Can’t really go wrong with any of those three as long as you’re matching or beating the specs.- DenverW

Ampsandsound Booster Box! I first heard this at Canjam Socal in 2022 and was blown away by improvement it made to the sources that Justin brought with him to demo. I wasn't sure it would make a huge difference in my system, but messaging with Justin he said, "Short answer is. Hell yes it will...- DenverW

THE WATERCOOLER HEADPHONE EDITION – Headphones, Amps, DACs, and desktop/home audio related – a freewheeling discussion of gear, impressions, music, and musings.
So, my work office is closing and I'm moving to a different, smaller space. At work I had a simple set up of a matrix mini i4 pro and my bokeh. Simple, but pretty darn awesome, actually. Since I don't have room for it at the new location, and safety of the gear is a concern, I brought them...- DenverW
