    Watts Up...?

Btw, after owning a HMS for years, my experiences were: 1. The more sensitive the speakers is, the better. I believe hp is more sensitive than speakers. 2. A power supply did make a difference. Provided day and night, else stick to the stock. E.g. I powered the Qutest with a 600W-5V, can't...

You may want to consider the below after your system has settled down: https://www.meanwell-web.com/en-gb/ac-dc-single-output-medical-enclosed-power-supply-msp--600--12 the difference is day and night. I usually don't play with PS, cabling but since HMS is processing ton of 1/0s device, the...

Indeed, the effect was immediate. Just like popeye the sailor man after spinach. The audiophile brand will price it 4 or 5 times for such built quality.

I replaced the stock PS of the HMS with Mean Well MSP-600-12 (https://www.meanwell-web.com/en-gb/ac-dc-single-output-medical-enclosed-power-supply-msp--600--12). The effects are Captain America before and after, powerful and open, energetic, controlled and lively! I replaced the stock PS of...

    Watts Up...?

Well, my pair of new speakers have been running for ~300hrs by now. Now, it's time to integrate the speakers into the room. I placed the speakers based on the manufacturer recommendation or those online guides. I used track no 10, 11, 16, 18, 20 from Stereo Review: Gold Stereo & Surround Set...

Long story short, I'll trade in my excesses, if things go well, to replace the HMS/Qutest with the Quartet and Ultimate Dac because of the Yamaha NS5000.

It's a bargain! 5 FPGAs in a box with separated PS + latest tech, etc... Based on this config, it should be priced at HMS X5! However, no opt inputs! Btw, I've acquired a pair of Yamaha NS 5000. My best hifi investment ever! It brought out the best of my HMS/Qutest! Well, all Rod's Dac...

my humble suggestion. before we make any signification upgrade, >10K, considering this first https://uk.yamaha.com/en/products/audio_visual/speaker_systems/ns-5000/index.html If these pairs of speakers were made by Euro/UK/US companies, they will ask three or four times more.

https://www.head-fi.org/threads/watts-up.800264/post-17648254 If you're using windows-based, you may want to try the ES tools, it claims to eliminate jitters in a window environment. And wipedisk. I did hear different although chord dac claims is immune to jitters .

    Watts Up...?

Hi guys, what I meant was EQ at the Super mscaler, not the Dac. Just a selling point to attract more buyers or differentiate it from the software approach.

    Watts Up...?

If Rob already has it in mind during the design stage. This is important as it will determine the layout of the HW. As for others, just purely programming as long as the "CPU" and "RAM" are sufficient. Rob just needs to plug-in existing codes from the DAVINA.

    Watts Up...?

Well, if there are auto EQ adjustments (input via mic and with selections of neutral, warm, mellow, excitement, extreme, or even based on moods of morning, evening, midnight ;) ;)) based on room size and condition, that would be a selling point, at least for those who don't know how (or any how)...

I'm also very excited about the new chord dac and mscaler. However I'd not buy them because those crazy days of spending big money on hifi is gone! What I am doing now is how to optimise my current qutest-mscaler computer music system. There is a breakthrough for ES76 and beyond...
