Fortunately the upper levels are easy to pass on since all they need are minor faults for me to be like ok, the purchase isn’t justified.- Jmop

I got the TYROMSO in my ears, and while it’s super hissy out of my Alien, right out of the box I am liking this IEM. Treble is so well-balanced that it’s actually smooth despite the elevation. Bass is a little slow, but this thing is involving with great timbre and air. Edit: Burn is already...- Jmop

I don’t need to climb the audio ladder very much tbh, at this moment in my life, I want my music to sound like music and my beer to taste like a beer.- Jmop

I owned the FW03 years ago, it was decent I think, kinda hard to remember but I think I returned it cuz of fit issues but that was before I owned SpinFits. The 01 has the slightly better balance but those JVCs tend to have rather big nulls in the mid treble.- Jmop

I didn’t purchase mine from this seller but this is a nice feeling cable if you’re looking for something all black. Sound is fine but I don’t have a lot of cable experience. Only negative is no cable cinch but I guess you could just put some electrical tape where you want the cinch to be to...- Jmop

I swapped the screw on nozzles of the Falcon Ultra and Shanling MG100 since they fit the exact same lol. They degraded the sound quality of each other but was a cool experiment at least.- Jmop

It’s in a different ballpark than Apple for sure, just not very powerful which some will see as a deal breaker. Edit: I have the Space Lite coming so that’ll be a worthwhile comparison.- Jmop

I’ve owned this for a bit and even though it’s discontinued I’d recommend it for iOS users if you can find one, I just haven’t been using my iPhone as a music source. Good marks by Andy too, this thing has a silky smooth sound and sounds quite neutral to my ears as well. Nothing sharp or boomy...- Jmop

I might end up with a Sony DAP later on for their warm sound, I keep coming back to my Shozy Alien for that combination of warmth, body, separation, and spaciousness it pulls off so well.- Jmop

Anyone else feeling more emotion from the Tanchjim Tanya than these bigger hitters? Going back to it after owning for a few years now and yeah, they have their weaknesses, but idk, there’s just something to em. Edit: I own the non-DSP.- Jmop

Do you think either of these descriptions are accurate for balanced playback? 1) Perceived effect is similar to crossfeed in that the overall sound is less like having two distinct transducers one on each ear and is more coherent. 2) Perceived effect is similar to watching a video at a higher...- Jmop

Couple dongles on the way to use with my R3 Pro, Penon Totem balanced to help with the bass control under load which that DAC can struggle with, and Tanchjim Space Lite since Space regular can get a bit dry and bright or so I’ve read, and unbalanced I imagine will be smoother.- Jmop

Eh, it really depends on what kind of bullet you’re trying to dodge. I don’t find them too bassy, in fact I think it’s necessary to balance the upper mids in this case, and it’s not so much bass that the lower mids get sucked out.- Jmop
