Definitely looks like a PMB, even the printing style on the headband is distinctively PMB. Looks like a PMB 25

    Hello Beyerdynamic, are you there??

I remember being super disappointed at the DT 770 Pro X release, I was hoping for a follow up to the DT-48 or even the ET-1000 for 100 years of the company. A new hi-end would've been greatly appreciated too but truth be told Beyerdynamic is a company that when it makes something good, sticks to...

    Stax SR-X1 (new entry model)

Sony MDR-Z/V900HD You can definetely see some sembelence to the SA series which the Z/V900HD are borrow a lot from Even more apparent on the rare, even has the date print like the SA. Super easy to open, absolutely no dampening or vents on the cups. Horrendous build quality and creak like...

Iirc the big difference between the hd580 and HD600 is that the hd600 incorporated more carbon fibre to reduce the vibrations After all HD600 is essentially a HD580 jubilee

No they wouldn't fit, the vintage beyers had a different style headband As for the mouldy smell, easiest would be an ozone chamber but I also find just leaving it out helps

The SV-2 has a cloth layer over the foam. I think it can kinda make sense if you have an acoustically transparent foam. On the flipside the sr-x have no foam whatsover. Guess the important thing is how the driver is engineered or how the headphone is engineered around the driver as in the...

I think there are on ears that can be good, even vintage ones like the SV-2 I showed, but often times its bad. I found the best sounding ones are the ones with the most minimal of shapes or padding, or the earpad themselves are a giant foam

what I still cant fathom is why the SR-X never had the over ear pads of the SR-5. Probably to keep the neutrality? Eitherway thats my big issue with the SR-Xmk3. Still not as bad as the gamma/alpha

The "Beyerdynamic DT48 arrives" thread has a lot of info and Ive sort of written a compendium of them... Somewhere.... But yeah theres certainly more rare ones than others and better sounding ones than others. The red-green ones are definetely rare, especially if serialised but otherwise sound...

115 or so, its not a bad price but it wouldve gone for more as someone REALLY wanted them. They're rare but not that rare. The nagra ones are rarer and more desirable, especially the DT-48S nagra

Diamond evaporated diaphragm, from appearance alone it looks like every other Sony with a diamond diaphgram but looks most similar to a V900 driver though I havent ever seen a CD950 one

SRA-12S working perfectly now! Earrily quiet~ And I finally got a fuse for my SRA-8S, which proceeded to promptly blow the fuse on my transformer, meaning my Fostex which I use as a headphone amp and DAC can no longer work since its 100 V Yay!

Doing some repairs on the SRA-12S with a Lambda NB. Amp started humming too much and I thought it may have been a ground loop so I rewired all my stuff but nope, Opened it and found a loose board Also youll notice one of the boards missing, that will be the phono amp board which Im still...

iirc, the resistor there is just extra protection for the SR-X mk3, due to its use in pro environments, since after all they were made to be used with the ridiculously powerful SRA-12S. Shouldn't change the sound one bit otherwise

Pretty much a Sony OEM! The AH-D930 desperately needs new pads though but the D900 is in excellent condition, both have drastically different sound signatures

Its definetely more unique to see the wire come from the magnet itself! Then again it could be more common than expected. Btw are you still using the original rubber pads on them?

Now another Napolex! More common than the CTX but far less information Napolex SV-2 Pads are glued on Inside is a ring of wool, but not the mineral wool I usually see, its more like polyester Rear of the driver Behind the driver is a layer of folder cloth, and then a very, very thin layer...
