Even i am puzzled by what people call slow UI. I always browse by folder. The experience if fine for the 64gb internal and 64gb sd card. They are about 80% full as well. 

  Haven't used iPhone 7. But, i have used 6+ of my friends. No where close to Jr IMO. Agree that they have improved a bit.

  10x at least based on what headphone you are using. Jr's amp/line out will be way better than what you get in mobile phones.  DAC chip is just one part of the equation. How to properly use it is a completely different story.

  I also have the same requirement. Dropped a mail to Schiit and they recommended using Freya. Jotunheim or Mjolnir 2 will also serve the purpose.

Yggy provides 4V output via balanced and 2V via SE. It is very easy to mistake it as better SQ via balanced. It is like having a preamp in the chain or not. It is more dependent on the capability of the amp. 

  Just in theory, redbook quality of 44Khz is upsampled by Yggy. If i use a semi pro audio interface like a Steinberg UR22, then i should get a "better" quality files for my portable purpose. Many has taken this route for converting vinyl to digital as well.

Slightly OT here. I am impressed how Yggy does the upsampling. Is it possible to feed the Yggy output to line input of sound card and capture that (say at 192Khz). This way i can use Yggy's upsampled result for my portable audio as well. Anyone tried similar things?

Is the 2V / 5.5V / 10V amp out is vrms or peak-peak? I am feeding the output to my car audio aux input which has 2Vrms sensitivity. Wondering what is the safest mode to use.

  A DSP after Yggy has to convert the analog signal back to digital to work its processing. Using a software based DSP before Yggy (like in JRiver) should work much better.

That is very useful @kvik. That is what i expected as well. Tento needs a good amp to bring out the best from it.

Just bought one from Adorama for sale price of $350 :)   Anyone using iDSD with external HDD and android phone/tablet?

Looking for a power cable and AES/EBU cable for Schiit yggy. Budget is around $200 each.   Currently shortlisted PS Audio AC-5 and AS Statement SE silver.   Your suggestions welcome :)

  Any idea how it will compare to iDSD Micro? I am torn between selecting between these two. The R2R portable contact is really inviting me towards Tento. But, iFi has a great amp (class A as well). I am not sure about Tento on amp perspective. Specs were not clear. I need at least 2V output.

Anyone use power conditioner with Yggy? I am planning to get Furman M-8X2. Wondering whether there will be any negative effects. As Yggy draws less power when compared to Amps or active monitors, i assume there shouldn't be any concern.

I checked with Astell&Kern in facebook whether they will be releasing firmware for supporting usb dac functionality on 64 bit os USB 3.0 port. The simple and straight answer from them was NO :(

  Should be quite possible. The manual mentions that only 64bit OS will have issue with USB dac. If it is possible with 32bit OS, then i hope they fix through some patch later. Some have mentioned in this thread earlier that they got it working with USB 3 port.

  Jr has more than enough power to drive that.
