Looking for a relatively bendable cable.
My M50s, that I purchased from a fellow Head-fier, came with a very long (6' or so ) Mogami 2534 dual entry cable. It's length and stiffness has always kept me from using them anywhere but home. Does anyone know of a cable I can replace it with, that still has the quality, but isn't so darn...- J.Pocalypse

Looking for a protective case for my soon to be revived 4th gen iPod ( grayscale )
Hello all, hope this is the right place to post this. I'm going to be resurrecting my iPod soon and want to keep it in it's best condition. I'm looking for something more then just a skin, but not so much like a Pelican case. Having trouble finding anything decent since it's been out of...- J.Pocalypse

Jack Black's "Ultra" LP. A lot of "never been done before" stuff.
The audio gear in the video is quite nice as well. http://consequenceofsound.net/2014/05/jack-white-announces-ultra-version-of-lazaretto-and-its-ridiculous/- J.Pocalypse

Amp for AKG K140.
Hello all, As the title says, I recently came across some K120s ( non vented cups ) and am wondering about a possible amp for them. The 600 ohm's leads me to believe that it's going to be a necessity for these cans to sound their best. So far, I'll I've been using them with is my Nuforce...- J.Pocalypse

Which would have better SQ?
I'm a bit torn on which I should do. I'd really like to get that FiiO E18 and pair it with my HTC One. On the other hand, I do have a 4th gen iPod ( gray scale ) sitting in my desk drawer. I'd just have to get a new battery. Also the CF card mod. And a clear front panel for good measure. Which...- J.Pocalypse

Made a pretty neat find at the thrift store the other day..
Once in a while, you find some pretty cool stuff at the second hand store. This past Sunday, I found a pair of Monsoon MH-500 speakers. The shame of it was, there as no volume control nor was the sub any where to be found. So, for $14, I decided to bring them home and check them out. I have a...- J.Pocalypse

Attn: Windows Phone users, File Conversion Issue.
I just wanted to bring this to peoples attention if it hadn't crossed their computer screen already. When I first got my Lumia 900, I was blown away by just about everything, except for the app selection and what I thought was just horrid SQ from the headphone jack. Well, today, as I was...- J.Pocalypse

Looking for an SD card hub.
Something kinda like this, but I was hoping to find something a bit lower profile and fully enclosed. Hoping to have something I can access from my phone in USB host mode ( when I finally figure out how to access it ) so I could have my full small full library ( only 113GB ) of FLACs with me at...- J.Pocalypse

Does anyone know of a decent..
..(4 pin) balanced headphone amp with RCA and USB in, in about the $400 range? I can't seem to find one. Tubes, or SS, doesn't matter. 24/96 support on the DAC would be nice.- J.Pocalypse

"Cut Me Some FLAC!" AudioStream discusses FLAC and other lossless/uncompressed file formats.
http://www.audiostream.com/content/cut-flac Seems some publications are finally catching up to the rest of the world that is already in the know. Nothing most of us don't already know, but I thought I'd pass it along none the less. Cheers.- J.Pocalypse

Is Trent just messing with me?!
Hello all, So I downloaded NIN's "The Slip" in 24/96 .WAV, again. After reading a bit of the "iPad can play 24/96, iPod Touch can't" discussion in the portable rigs thread. Out of boredom, I played "Discipline", in iTunes ( On a Windows 7, Eee PC 1201N ), to my ( first gen ) uDAC to my...- J.Pocalypse

Mac or PC, both with SPDIF out.
Going by sound quality alone, it really shouldn't matter which one I want to get, right? I know Mac has that Amerra, which would be fun to try and I've done all the variations of kernel streaming.. Would I even need to bother with that since the PC does have the digital out?- J.Pocalypse

I got a $30 gift card for Christmas to Best Buy.
Before I knew what the amount was, I was pretty excited. Turns out, it's for $30. I can't really find anything I want under $80, but let's call the ceiling, $50. Ideas?- J.Pocalypse

How close is too far for nearfield monitors / active/passive bookshelf speakers.
I'm going to be moving soon, and I want to start building on a non-headphone system. To give you an idea of distance, I have an Ikea Jerker desk with the swiveling shelves on either side. My guess would be, that'd put speakers about 3.25' from my head. My question is, how do I determine if...- J.Pocalypse
