Poll: How long did your last headphones/earbuds last?

Please tell me roughly how long your last headphones or earbuds lasted before: Dying on you Breaking Battery didn't last enough to be worthwhile Any other reason that made them useless We probably all have some old wired headphones that are over 10 years old and work fine. I'd like to know...

    Bowers & Wilkins PI7

If you're a basshead, have you looked at Powerbeats Pro? I personally prefer V-shaped sound, but the Pros are kind of fun. You get used to the bass over time. And checking this guide, they cover Vista 2 and Sony WF XB700 and have links to reviews. Vista 2 - are the jack of all trades. You can...

Bluetooth codecs in 2022 & your opinion

BT bandwitdth can't transmit lossless. Not yet at least. That's the whole point in choosing the best codec.

Bluetooth codecs in 2022 & your opinion

Can't you equalize Bluetooth headphones to get to the sound signature you like? A lot of them have in-app equalizers to play with.

Bluetooth codecs in 2022 & your opinion

Hi everyone, with the hope to provide value before asking for help, here's the list of (hopefully) all Bluetooth codecs relevant in 2022. There are some positive changes on the horizon for wireless audio. I'm especially excited for the new LC3 and LC3plus codecs that will become standard in the...

    Deezer now streaming lossless

Are they? I'm not sure. If you have serious hardware you probably also have lossless music on your hard drive or CD. I always looked at streaming music as of lower quality. But you're probably right that many people don't want to bother with creating their own music selection and just want to...

What Bluetooth amplifier do you use? (if any)

Thanks, this one actually looks promising. I'd only want for more supported codecs, aptX HD would be nice.

What Bluetooth amplifier do you use? (if any)

I know Bluetooth doesn't support lossless music yet. But I'm getting a bit frustrated with cables. I'm thinking about sacrificing a bit of audio quality for convenience. What Bluetooth amplifiers are you using? Are they worth getting or should we just stick with cables? There's nothing good I...

Going fully Wireless IEMs. Too soon? Or are we there yet?

TWS earbuds are not there yet. We have to wait for the new LC3 codec which will hopefully be capable of CD quality audio in optimal conditions. We'll see. Until then, lossy music with LDAC or LHDC is your best bet.

Rate the video games you're currently playing

My non-generic taste. Playing: Medieval dynasty: 4/5. Fun for as long as it takes. But too short, not enough content, and too easy. But man, I love building my own village and making money. :) Green hell: 4/5. A survival game that's kind of hard until you figure out what plants you need to...

    Windows EQ?

I second the EqualizerAPO. Great piece of software.

    Deezer now streaming lossless

What's the point of lossless steaming if you listen to music on the go. My phone doesn't have a 3.5mm output, so I have to use Bluetooth. And as far as I know, the headphones only support SBC or AAC Bluetooth codecs which don't support lossless. In that case, it's useless.

    Sonarworks Headphone Calibration software

Another parametric EQ would probably be better for that use. But if your headphones aren't on the list, you could use some other headphone's profile that has a similar frequency response. Not ideal, but it should improve the sound nonetheless.

Apple Music  Now with lossless high-res and spatial audio

I believe it creates a virtual surround sound. It's not real surround sound, just some programming to trick your brains. It's kind of cool if you actively look for the difference, but by the end of the day, totally forgettable. My 2 cents.

    New Member Introductions thread

Hi, I'm Matt. I have a couple of wired audiophile headphones but lately haven't been listening to them that much. Really looking for wireless headphones with near Hi-Fi audio quality. I know it's going to take a few more years probably for the technology to develop, but a man can wish no.
