your review of the Legend helped me pull the trigger on those, let's see if your voltage impressions will have a similar result 😅- vaporsynthwave

Oriolus Szalayi IEM discussion thread
iOS limiting wireless to the aac codec would make me stay away from Bluetooth. in my opinion sza goes better with less colored sources so the hip dac might not be the best. Depending on your budget you could look into the EPZ TP50, iBasso dc04/06pro, or more expensive options like L&P W4 and...- vaporsynthwave

I find that the Fiio BTR7 pairs quite nicely if you're looking for Bluetooth and something not too pricey.- vaporsynthwave

Personally my approach in the hobby doesn't necessarily call for an endgame. My Traillii doesn't live on my desk as a daily driver; I break in out once in a while in order to keep it fresh and my summit tolerance down. In the meantime I rotate through sets I find unique and acquired at more...- vaporsynthwave

Penon's higher end offerings don't seem too widely circulated, possibly due in part to the reluctance of consumers after the the majority of their prior iems were considerably cheaper. imo their offerings punch above their weight, especially when it comes to overall engagement with the music...- vaporsynthwave

I just picked up the DC-Elite and it's excellent. Haven't been able to remove the Z1R from it but I imagine the Szalayi has some wonderful synergy as well?- vaporsynthwave

Too expensive for the discovery thread and too cheap for the watercooler 😅 Kidding, some Penon releases like Quattro and Serial have been praised across segments- vaporsynthwave

The PENON official thread
hmmm about the price I expected. the same as the Legend, which seems to be the least discussed Penon release. Although it is a follow-up to the popular Volt and a more enticing (for many) configuration than all-BA. For now I will fight temptation, wait for more reviews and comparisons, and...- vaporsynthwave

Based on the reviews it seems like it'll be a nice contrast to my wm1am2 when I want a more energetic sound presentation. I haven't used anything with a stepped attenuator and was curious if the volume adjustment would be an issue but I guess the bird isn't too sensitive. I primarily use...- vaporsynthwave
