    AXEL GRELL HEADPHONE

This is a headphone where only a small number of people have heard the final version. Maybe it’s incredible, maybe it’s not, probably some will love it and some will think it’s meh like any other headphone. The first run is sold out so there will be a lot of feedback once those start landing...

I posted this in the Folkvangr thread but I figured y’all might know as well. Is there a domestic US source for 12??7 -> 6DJ8/6922 adapters? From what I understand it’s just a matter of the adapter rerouting the heater pins from 12.6 volt series operation to 6.3 volt parallel operation...

    Schiit Folkvangr - Impressions Thread

Does anyone know a good source for 12??7 to 6DJ8/6922 adapters for the Folkvangr? I was one of the winners for the tube giveaway PSVANE is doing for the launch of their new line and I have 10 12AU7 tubes coming. From what I understand I just need the adapter that will change the heater pins...

That’s a striking VC. That black and white resin combined with the light wood is gorgeous.

While it’s nowhere near the same league as the Sony, the oldest design for a headphone I’ve ever heard is the Koss Portapro, which turns 40 years old this year (though the one I had was newer production).

I wouldn’t say there’s a ‘worst’ Yggy. The A1 is the oldest version of the boards, but if you get the GS2 version it does come with new firmware. Some people like the brighter nature of the A1 vs the others, depending on their headphones and the rest of their chain.

I decided to break out my Beyerdynamic T1.2s again today. I tried these out with the Folkvangr when I first got the amp and didn’t think it was a good match, the warm nature of the FV with the stock tubes combined with the warm nature of the T1.2 was just too much doubling down. I realized I...

    Schiit Yggdrasil Impressions thread

From what I’ve read: A1 ->. Brightest/thinnest sounding version A2 -> More balanced and with bigger soundstage, most dynamic version LIM -> Thicker and lower resolution but more forgiving, least dynamic MIB -> Thicker but highest resolution version, slightly less dynamic than A2 but close...

Which wood is that? The VO is perhaps the most beautiful ZMF headphone. I love the intricate large grill.

The brass rods look sharp. ZMF used to let you pick your grill and rod finish when you ordered. I wonder why they don’t do that anymore.

On those burnt ash headphones, can you feel the texture of the burn lines or is it all waxed/glossed over? I think they look cool but I could see myself just picking at the burn lines absentmindedly if they’re textured.

My FV doesn’t seem to get super hot. I can hold my hand right above the tubes and there’s some warmth but nothing crazy. The MJ3 actually seems to get warmer - if I’ve been listening for a while the front panel feels warm when I unplug the headphones.
