If you don't mind, could you elaborate more about "generally to attempt to discredit folks with his confused version of science"? I am interested to find out more from your viewpoint. Thanks.

Super (capacitor) charging your iFi Zen Can (and other zen products and possibly other manufacturers)

Did you buy your supercapacitor bank or you built your own one? Is it possible that different design of supercapacitor bank would sound a bit differently?

Super (capacitor) charging your iFi Zen Can (and other zen products and possibly other manufacturers)

Some makers have different part# for different tolerance level. For example, I just bought a few WIMA film capacitor and they have 5%, 10%, and 20% for you to choose from. They use J,K,M in the part number to specify the tolerance level: For audio part, I picked 5% (or the highest precision...

It is a great idea. I can find dual to quad op amp adaptors: But I have a hard time to find DIP to TSSOP socket. I can only find the TSSOP to DIP adaptors. It would be cool if I can put a DIP socket on the TSSOP-14 connections on the PCB. In that case, I can test a lot of Op Amps with the DAC.

Super (capacitor) charging your iFi Zen Can (and other zen products and possibly other manufacturers)

Finally, replaced the Op Amp with OPA1644 and added the grounded copper foils to cover the XMOS, DSD1793, and the new Op Amp chips. (The works were done poorly due to my skills but it works nicely at the end. Yeah) Added the grounded copper foil to DSD1793 Removed the original Op Amp. It was...

I think Thor means don't use SMD version of OS-CON. Use the regular one with leads. SMD is harder to soldering at home.

USB-C PD is good enough? Is it for Zen Can Signature only (as it has internal switiching power supply)? For Zen DAC, I bet LPS is still preferred over USB-C PD. Correct?

iFi Audio Zen Dac 3... Plug In, World Out!

Cool, thanks for your review. Just wondering did you always power your Zen DAC with USB? If yes, I'd suggest you can try the dedicated 5V regulated LPS for your Zen DAC. I bet you would love the sound more with the 5V power supply.

need help in some explanation with dac-s build and statements

There are a lot of mis-leading information about Hi-Res or Upsampling music. One of the benefits of Hi-Res or Upsampled music (e.g. 384k/32bit, or even 768/32) is to better reconstruct audio signal (yes frequency under 22kHz). Sampling theory said 44kHz sampling is good enough to reproduce...

Sorry for my ignorance, what is dual chamber EI core transformers and "Y" capacitor? p.s.: The timing of my replies may be a bit odd as I am put under speech control.

IMO, I see it this way (I coud be wrong though): 1: Most of modern devices have on-board circuity to reduce noise from a power supply but it is not perfect. (Let's say it reduce noise by x%) 2: Supercapacitor bank can condition the power to eliminate most of the noise but again not perfect. I...

    Is VST band-limited?

Does it mean that the following article is talking BS? Can you spot the difference? Classic waveforms versus modern digital emulation | MusicRadar i.e. In the article they shows different waves forms (sawtooth and square) created by Audacity. As the replies here said a computer (or h/w digital...
