The Sennheiser HD580 Impressions Thread
I'm sure I've seen them sold separately however they may no longer be available now. I looked at the site bifcake pointed to however they don't sell many spares for the HD600 and HD650. Any acoustically transparent material would do if I wasn't so concerned it might change the sound however...- Sefelt103

Is there any differences between Beyerdynamic DT 880 - 32/250/600 ohms?
What is the attraction of the 32Ω version ? It's easy to drive but your amplifier has adequate performance. It tends to be less expensive than the other versions however. It is perhaps the least desirable of the trio, most people are more interested in the 600Ω version. I have one but I'm not...- Sefelt103

Your Audient card can power up to 600Ω headphones so I would choose the 250Ω version. No.- Sefelt103

Is there any differences between Beyerdynamic DT 880 - 32/250/600 ohms?
Avoid the 32Ω as per Me x3 above. Easy to drive but loses the refinement of higher impedances. If you like bass then these headphones provide high quality bass, however as you require some volume to get the bass to shine on any headphone the treble spikes start to become problematic. The 250Ω...- Sefelt103

looking for headphone suggestions
People often go for the Sennheiser HD600 for classical and bright headphones of which there is no shortage. I like headphones that accurately portray any type of music but there is a strong tendency for people to acquire headphones 'optimised' for a genre. If your Sennheiser HD650 is one of the...- Sefelt103

Best headphone for bad crappy recording quality songs from the 80's
I thought recording tech. was pretty good in the 1980's. Certainly I don't have any complaints about albums by the Cure in terms of recording quality. I'm surprised no one has recommended the Sennheiser HD650.- Sefelt103

The bass of the HD650 - what a strange thing
Absolutely, there are some old gems in and on Headfi. I've never heard a planar magnet or electrostatic but with headphones there is always some compromise. In the case of planar magnetics it's the upper mids and upwards that don't conform to natures human hearing. It depends whether one is a...- Sefelt103

Are the HD580 Jubilee better than the HD600?
There is very little on the internet or Headfi about these headphones. Very hard to find or purchase and much more expensive than a HD580, HD600 or HD650. I would say the HD580 Jubilee is more true to the source than the HD580, HD600 or HD650. It just gets out of the way. The 2nd version of the...- Sefelt103

Some thoughts on AKG K812 pro
From what I've seen of the frequency response curves it seems fairly 'flat' in the low frequencies. The bass has been criticised in the past but not because there was too much. It was usually its quality and having too much distortion in this region. How could one come to the conclusion a 'lean'...- Sefelt103
