I've tried HD6XX with Modi 3+, Modi+, Magni 3+, DIY OTL and directly from MBP 16" 2019 (whithout internal amp). To make a long story short I can say MBP's DAC has lovely musicial sound but HD6XX need to be amped.

Mac has an alum case and I feel the heat by my hands. Also I sensitive to fans RPM.

I found it. USB TypeA to TypeC OTG adapter makes MacBook hot. Direct TypeC to TypeC cable doesn't produce signigicant heat.

I spend all day without any USB devices. No heating, no fans. The same working tasks. Why not, let it be internal DAC.
