I've worked all my in life in creative fields. I used to be a nightclub promoter in Ireland in the 80s, then I worked in radio in Ireland and then television in London in England.
I've always had Hi Fi systems. I had my first in the 70s when I was a teenager. I really got into music and also setting up record players for myself and my friends. I became the "expert" in how to set up a turntable for all my friends actually. I have a really good knowledge of all that turntable stuff such as aligning tonearms correctly etc.
I've had a number of Hi Fi systems over the years however I do keep things for a long time, I don't do frequent upgrading.
Today I don't use a turntable at all. I use Apple Music and CDs that I've ripped to my Mac Mini. I have quite a few CDs that I've owned for a couple of decades, but recently I've taken to buying CDs again, often second-hand online. I'm not sure why, I think I just like them.
At the end of most days I listen to music for a couple of hours. I haven't had a television since the early nineties in fact. I've always loved listening to music instead of that.

- Audio-Related Tweaks
- I don't really do tweaks these days, I've become very lazy in that regard. I like to just listen to the music and not worry too much about the equipment. I do take great care about setup, I position speakers as best I can and that kind of thing. My Focal monitors are on Isoacoutics stands on my desk for example, they are very well positioned.
- Music Preferences
- I love anything that is experimental and pushing an edge of some sort. I listen to a lot of contemporary classical and 20th century classical, I love the impressionists such as Debussy, Ravel and others. I listen to a lot of jazz in particular contemporary jazz. I also love electronica and club music, soul, neo-soul and R&B.
