Checked out the stock tube that came with Vali 3 tonight and damned if I can find any fault with it. Very clean, not as warm and open as the Jan 5670W but definitely Schiit worthy.

I made a bit of a road trip today to verify rumors of a Total Wine in Maryland and by golly it’s true. Found this bottle on the shelves and will give it a go this evening. I did take a few sniffs and found fruit cake drenched in B&B on the nose which works for me.

I’m totally with you on the 1920 but I find the 1910 a fun and silly indulgence (2 overly charred barrels). It’s one of those wow factor things that tires quickly. I am totally susceptible to the wow factor in drink and audio however fleeting.

Just a quick listen to the Vali 3 that arrived this morning. With a Jan 5670W, listen to some of the Travesia recommendation posted earlier on Quobuz. Clear as a bell and an authoritative smoothness. Simply incredible. More tubes later but dang, right out of the box it’s quite impressive.

So sorry to hear that. As an ex-nurse I’d claim second place as worst patient group. Stay away from the poke salad.
