Frequency Response: 20Hz – 20kHz good enough?
From running sine waves from 6 to 20 Hz from Room EQ Wizard's sine wave generator, it seems I can hear below 20Hz. With the same method I have noticed amplifiers actually do differ in how far below 20Hz they can go. Also music played with below 20Hz cutoff activated with software always sounds...- CopperFox

iFi audio Quasar - Power to the People!
@iFi audio the marketing materials here state that "The Quasar has no shielding to reduce the capacitors designed for high powered amplifiers." That seems like a translation failure or something like that, I believe the correct phrasing would be "to reduce capacitance". You may want to have that...- CopperFox

The Deals DISCUSSION Thread (READ THE FIRST POST!!!)
For myself, Monoprice's high EU shipping costs have always included EU VAT so I didn't need to pay that afterwards. This has also been confirmed to me by local DHL staff that handled the customs process. It is a bit strange though that this is not explicitly stated anywhere on their site.- CopperFox

Headphone Tube Amps - The hunt for all 300B TUBE AMPS
I am going to order a pair later this month to try. I've liked all other JJ tubes I've had. Their e88cc is my #1 driver tube for the CK300 and I prefer it over nos tubes I've tried. It's particulary strong on bass extension and subbass. Their GZ34S is also in my top two rectifier tubes for it...- CopperFox

Headphone Tube Amps - The hunt for all 300B TUBE AMPS
Finally got around to flipping the tube sockets around. This was however not primarily motivated by aesthetic reasons but a need to clear up some space inside the chassis for... something, that should arrive in a couple of weeks. Have to say the HE1000V2 has really surprised me. They have...- CopperFox
