If we keep trying to figure how to make stereo to mono solutions ourselves, there's a danger that Jason won't do it for us!

You would have to sum the positive signals together, and the inverse signals. I know that there are many outboard mono boxes for RCA's. I wonder if there are similar XLR boxes in the pro market?

Thank you, but I merely modified an existing interconnect. It does work well though!

Very nice! Is the phenolic just a veneer, or is the whole board phenolic resin? Some turntable manufacturers are now using phenolic resin for their chassis. It's supposed to be very good for vibration dissipation.

The PBJ made this mod easier. You can just scrape the insulation away from the wire where you want to insert the switch, no cutting required. It's still a single/whole piece of wire between the two RCA jacks.

If you're really sick and twisted, I'm looking in the mirror, you can make a pair of interconnects with a built in mono switch. Even fewer connections than an add on box, and totally out of the signal path in stereo mode. But nothing beats a pre with a built in mono button. Edit; a mono switch...

The panels on the ceilings and side walls/door are QRD's. The panels and "bass traps" in the corners are Helmholtz resonators, tuned for 45Hz. I built the "tube traps", and designed the panels that were built by a talented friend. This was in the mid 1990's, and the only room acoustic companies...

Did someone mention room treatments? I’ve dabbled a bit… It helps to have a dedicated space though.
