I built the DIY Aegis and I'm not using HA-6A anymore, so offering for sale.

I bought it directly from Thomas (German distributor of Cayin), at the Deutsche Hifi Tage, in April 2020 (out of warranty). It looks as new, and works flawlessly.

As other early units, mine was suffering from hiss too with the ZMF Verite Open, so I sent to Cayin for servicing. They applied the same modifications as the new generation units (you can confirm it by contacting Stefan Noll at info@cayin.com, he will likely remember my case).

After modification, I barely heard a hiss with the Verite, in the most extreme condition (XLR4 output, KT88 and high impedance setting). No hiss at all with the Empyrean even before modification.

Just to be 100% accurate, it does not seem to be compatible with every tube. In particular, didn't work with PS Vane KT88 and KR Audio KT88 (after few times, the internal fuse blows). Didn't have any problem with EL34s.

Other than that, it is a super reliable machine and offers a very good sound, more enjoyable for many than solid state amplifiers.

My unit was shipped with Genalex KT88 and Electro Harmonix EL34 as output tubes, Electro Harmonix 12AU7 as input tubes. I will also include in the shipment Tung-Sol 12AU7, JJ (gold/non-gold pins) 12AU7.

I will ship from Germany with the original packaging.
